Gerald R. Fink ’62 Bioscience Symposium 2015

"Health Care: The Crossroads of Science, Disease Treatment and Public Policy Initiatives"

The Gerald R. Fink '62 Bioscience Symposium for 2015 will be held on January 15 in the Cole Assembly Room of Converse Hall. This is the seventh annual symposium and is sponsored by the Amherst Class of 1962.

The following speakers are expected:

  • George W. Carmany III ’62, hospital chairman, health care investor and member of the Advisory Committee on Education of the Harvard Medical School.
  • Kelly Close ’90, president of Close Concerns, a healthcare information company that services large pharmaceutical and medical device companies active in the areas of diabetes and obesity; editor-in-chief of diaTribe and chair of the diaTribe Foundation.
  • Inger K. Damon ’84, is the incident commander of the Ebola Response Team for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Gerald Fink ’62, founding member of the Whitehead Institute and the American Cancer Society Professor of Genetics at MIT.
  • David C. Page, director of the Whitehead Institute at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Frank E. Thompson ’87, the manager of HIV Services for the Kansas City Health Department.
