Bill died at home in Duxbury, Mass., on Jan. 20, 2015, at the age of 87, after contending with chronic lymphocytic leukemia for 25 years.
Five days after graduating from Amherst, he married Carolyn Reeves; the marriage lasted 63 years.
He worked in various manufacturing positions during his lifetime, particularly related to boating (especially sail-boating) hardware. He was an avid sailor.
He and Carolyn had three sons, all bachelors, so no grandchildren.
