In light of these developments, the Alumni Executive Committee is offering a poll of alumni. The one-question poll is open until 12 noon EST on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Walker Professor of Mathematics, for winning the American Mathematical Society's 2016 Steele Prize for Exposition. Cox and two colleagues from the College of the Holy Cross and New College of Florida were recognized "for their book Ideals, Varieties, and Algorithms, which has made algebraic geometry and computational commutative algebra accessible not just to mathematicians but to students and researchers in many fields."
