Alumni Mascot Poll Results — On December 1, the Alumni Executive Committee completed a poll of alumni about the College's unofficial mascot.   Results of the poll are posted to the website and will be shared with the Board of Trustees.

Men's Soccer Wins Its First-Ever NCAA Championship — The team scored a thrilling 2-1 victory on Dec. 5 against Loras College.


Seminar on "Criminal Enemies" Debuts — Should suspected terrorists be treated like criminals or like enemy combatants? It's a dilemma that has occupied legal minds since the invocation of the "war on terror," and it's the subject of a lecture series at the College.

'83 Athlete Named Assistant Track and Field Coach for 2016 U.S. Olympic TeamTroy Engle '83 follows Amherst alumni and past Olympians Prince Albert Grimaldi '81, Bob Billingham '79 and Donald Cohan '51. Grimaldi represented his native Monaco as a bobsledder at multiple Games, and Billingham and Cohan competed in sailing events. Billingham won a silver medal in 1988, and Cohan won bronze in 1972.


Register for Amherst Today: EnergyCome back to campus for an interdisciplinary look at energy. Talks and panels will explore topics from energy economics to sustainability. Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins '82 from the State Department will discuss nuclear energy and threat reduction.
