News has reached Amherst of the death of Hugh L. Lipton on July 2, 1981. Originally a member of the class of 1967, Lipton was at Amherst between 1963 and 1965, eventually earning a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1967. He attended Johns Hopkins Medical School, receiving his degree in 1970. He then interned at New York Hospital and went into practice. While at Amherst, Hugh was affiliated with Phi Alpha Psi. He is survived by his wife, Jacalyn Mary Duffin, and his son Joshua, of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
