The class mourns the death of Tom Britt, who died on May 19, 1968. Tom was born in Tampa, Fla., but spent most of his life in Raleigh, N.C. He entered Amherst from Needham B. Broughton High School. Tom spent three years at Amherst with the class of 1967, and then he took a year off. He reentered in the fall of 1967 but left after one semester. While at Amherst, Tom was a fine arts major and a member of SDS and Students for Racial Equality. The class and the college extend their sympathy to his family and friends.
