Peer Tutoring is available to students, free of charge, who are enrolled in Amherst courses and, for a variety of reasons, find themselves in need of tutorial assistance. The Peer Tutoring Program is overseen by the Office of Student Affairs located in Room 201 of Converse Hall. Please read the information below about how to obtain a peer tutor.

Peer tutors are approved by faculty in the following disciplines:

Humanities: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Russian, Spanish

Quantitative Disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Geology, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology

Peer tutoring may be done remotely (using Facetime, Duo, Zoom, etc.) or in person, depending on the needs and comfort levels of all involved.

To get paid, Peer Tutors should email Raphaela Moreno (rmoreno@amherst.edu) for instructions on submitting their hours.
