  • Amherst's Center for Counseling and Mental Health has experts who can provide guidance and counseling in areas such as body issues, race, culture, and ethnicity, crisis and trauma, sexuality and sexual orientation, and many more areas, for emergency and non-emergency services.   • Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sexual harassment, which includes and is not limited to sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination. Amherst College is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination, and harassment based upon sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.   • Accessibility Services is available for students in need of reasonable housing, dining, and academic accommodations. Accommodations are made on a case by case in collaboration with Accesibility Services and appropriate offices. They can be reached at accessibility@amherst.edu.
  • Class Deans are available to help students navigate academic and social pressures. Students may use this resource to connect with peer tutors, to discuss academic schedule adjustments, and to request accomodations among other services.
  • Amherst Safe R-I-D-E: Amherst College Community Service Officers operate a safety escort service on campus between the hours of 7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. year round. For personal safety, students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to use this service by calling Safe R-I-D-E (413-542-7433).

Health

Keefe Campus Health Center is committed to promoting health and preventing and treating disease. The Health Center provides STI testing and treatment, nutrition counseling, health counseling, pregnancy testing, transition support, and much more for Amherst College students. 

The Department of Health Education supports students as they embark on or continue their individual and collective journeys to build and improve their wellbeing. They provide support, resources, and practical tools in a range of wellness topics, including emotional and physical health, social wellbeing, and relationships.

Global Education Office
