This feature will let you see exactly what students will see in your course.
- In the course, go to the User Menu (your picture) at top right and then select Switch Role To.
- On the next screen Click on the role that you wish to assume (ie "Student AC"). The course display will change based on what a person in that role would see.
- To switch back to your original role, go to the User Menu and click the Return to my normal role link.
Important Tip when Switching Roles in a Hidden Course (ie Before the Start of Term)
- If you switch your role to Student, remember to switch back to your normal role before navigating away from the course.
- If a course is still hidden from students, and you navigate away from it while still in the student role, the course will not appear in your dashboard (because it's hidden from students). If this does happen, simply log out and back in.
- Once courses become visible to students the week before classes this is no longer an issue.
