Two Chronicle Articles Examine Student Divisions — The Chronicle of Higher Education published an article last week about "pernicious divisions" of race, class, gender and athletics at Amherst. In response, President Biddy Martin wrote an essay for the newspaper that addresses the article and places it in a broader societal context.

Event Cancelled: Due to the potential Nor’easter in the forecast, we are regrettably postponing Tuesday’s STEM Blender. This promises to be a wonderful event, but we do not want to risk the chance of dangerous travel for our guests, students, and program participants.

Asian Alumni Day, April 1 — The Asian Students Association (ASA), the South Asian Students Association (SASA), the Korean Students Association (KSA) and Alumni and Parent Programs are delighted to bring together Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander students and alumni for support, networking and community. The preliminary schedule of events includes senior thesis presentations, a career panel and a keynote address by author Helen Wan '95. This event promises to be enriching, memorable and empowering for all involved.

April 21-22, we will explore food from a variety of disciplines including anthropology, politics, entrepreneurship, chemistry and history. We will also have the opportunity to sample many wonderful foods and wine!
