The IVAN SHKOTT PAPERS are organized into two series:

  1. CORRESPONDENCE WITH A. REMIZOV AND S. REMIZOVA-DOVGELLO, 1927-1933
  2. WRITINGS, [1928]-1929

Series 1, CORRESPONDENCE WITH A. REMIZOV AND S. REMIZOVA-DOVGELLO, 1927-1933, 0.16 linear feet, contains two scrapbooks primarily with the letters to and from A. Remizov and S. Remizova-Dovgello. Topics include the prehistory of Shkott's publication of Mal'chiki i devochki and chronicle his increasing depression. Internal evidence suggests that these scrapbooks were created by A. Remizov after Shkott's tragic death. The scrapbooks are organized chronologically and each correspondent is indexed.

Series 2, WRITINGS, [1928]-1929, 0.34 linear feet, includes two holograph manuscripts of Mal'chiki i devochki and the published version of the same novel. The series is arranged chronologically.
