Over the course of four decades, Peter A. Nadosy P’01 has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to Amherst College as a friend and financial steward. His passionate, creative, thoughtful and altruistic engagement has been instrumental in the College’s growth and prosperity.

Nadosy’s involvement with Amherst began in 1979 when he became an external fund manager. He joined the Board of Trustees in 1988, where for 12 years he chaired the investment committee, shepherding the endowment through a period of unprecedented diversification and growth. Always attentive to the whole, during this period Nadosy also served on the instruction committee. In 2000, he became a life trustee. The following year, he and daughter Meghan shared the stage at Commencement when he received an honorary doctorate of humane letters the day she graduated. Throughout his long involvement with Amherst, Nadosy has been an invaluable resource and mentor to the staff and a true champion of the College’s mission.

Nadosy is managing partner of East End Advisors, which he co-founded in 2008. Earlier, Nadosy spent 27 years at Morgan Stanley, rising to the rank of vice chairman in 1995. In 1998, he became an advisory director and continued to serve the firm in a consulting capacity. Prior to working at Morgan Stanley, he worked for 11 years at the Fiduciary Trust Company of New York.

Chair of the board of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Nadosy also serves on the boards of Central European University, the Ford Foundation and the Dana Foundation, and on the investment committees of the Altman Foundation, the Brearley School, the Summit Foundation, the Weizmann Global Endowment and St. Thomas Church. He is a trustee of St. Andrew’s Dune Church in Southampton, N.Y. Nadosy holds degrees from Harvard and Columbia Business School.
