I joined Amherst College as a Math Associate in 2018. I have always loved math, and I started doing problems and puzzles for fun when I was a little kid. As a tutor in college, a T.A. in grad school, and an instructor afterward, my favorite part was always working closely with students and I look forward to doing that every day in the Q Center. I am originally from Connecticut and have lived in New England for most of my life. I was a first-generation college student and I earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Science at my local community college before I transferred to Central Connecticut State University and earned a B.A. in Mathematics in 2005. I first came to Amherst in 2006 to attend graduate school at UMass. There I received an M.S. in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2012, doing research in nonlinear Fourier Analysis and partial differential equations. After I finished grad school, I moved to Germany for a post-doctoral position at the University of Tübingen, and I am still learning German. Before returning to Massachusetts permanently, I spent two years in Minnesota as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Carleton College. I am really happy to be back and excited about doing math with the students here at Amherst!
