Commencement 2019: A Recap

’84 Alum Becomes Amherst’s Chief Advancement Officer

Betsy Cannon Smith ’84, P’15 was elevated to the position after holding a number of key leadership positions within Advancement since 1986. In making the announcement, President Martin praised Cannon Smith’s “comprehensive and deep familiarity with alumni, staff and faculty,” as well as her “devotion to the College and its mission.”


Reunion Is Here!

Whether it’s been five years or 65 years since you were last on campus, take part in a memorable weekend of reminiscing with friends and celebrating all that you love about Amherst. Reunion 2019 runs May 29 through June 2 and features College- and class-sponsored programs, lectures, concerts, receptions and meals for alumni and their families. Registration is open and the tents are going up.


Senior Class Speech

Selected by her peers to give the senior class speech, Helena Burgueño '19 had this advice for her fellow students about their post-Amherst lives: “You don't have to have everything figured out today, and you definitely don't have to know how you feel about leaving this place.”
