Project Connect might be just the place to start according to past participants.

  • 100% of participants said they would recommend ProjectConnect to a friend
  • 93% expressed interest in participating again with a new group

“I loved being able to check in with the same group each week and start to build up meaningful relationships. By the middle of our sessions I felt really comfortable talking about things I don't usually talk about, which was really refreshing. If enough students participate, this has the potential to change the social culture on campus.”

“I loved ProjectConnect! I loved the opportunity to meet new people and have extra friendly faces to see around campus.”

“This was an extremely valuable experience. I was able to share in community with people I wouldn’t usually encounter. I learned to be open and vulnerable with people who I don’t know well, and it made me want to be more open with people I do know.”

ProjectConnect is a 5-session peer-led program to help build social connection and reduce prejudice on campus. Students get to know each other in small groups of 4-6 by responding to a series of fun and thought-provoking question prompts that have been shown to facilitate closeness, build empathy, and increase intergroup interaction. Students also engage in a small community-building project together, and share a treat and reflect on the experience.
