This two-hour workshop asks participants to dive deeper into the concept of bias, this time with a focus on interrupting institutional bias, with the following goals:

  1. Develop an understanding of the definition of institutional bias and its prevalence.
  2. Through a conversation on unwritten rules and roles, consider our own roles in perpetuating institutional bias.
  3. Identify the ways in which institutional bias plays out at Amherst.
  4. Understand and apply an institutional change framework for interrupting institutional bias to various case studies.

This workshop is open to any members of the community who have either participated in Bias
1.0, or who have a strong understanding of the concept of implicit bias and how it intersects with their
own identities and privileges.
