GETTING STARTED IN AIM

Faculty members will have an account created for them in AIM and should be able to log in with their Amherst ID and password to access the portal. If you have trouble accessing AIM, please email accessibility@amherst.edu for assistance. 

ACCESSING THE AIM FACULTY PORTAL

If preferred, you can rely on email communications to keep track of student accommodations in your courses. However, to view all of your students’ accommodations collectively and utilize other accommodation features in AIM, you will need to log in to the faculty portal using the instructions below. 

Step 1. Log in to the AIM portal. If prompted to sign in, log in with your Amherst ID and password. 

Step 2. Read Accessibility Services’ confidentiality guidelines and click ‘Continue to View Student Accommodations’ to acknowledge it. This will grant you access to the list of students in your classes who are requesting accommodations.

Step 3. Click on ‘View’ in the left-hand column to review individual student notification letters and accommodation details for which the student is approved.

VIEWING ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE REQUESTED ACCOMMODATIONS

Step 1. To view all student accommodations collectively, click ‘Overview’ in the ‘Views and Tools’ menu in the left column. This will bring you to the overview screen where you can view the list of all students who have requested accommodations. 

Step 2. If you would like to export a full list of students’ accommodations, click ‘Search Students’ Eligibilities’ in the upper right corner and select ‘Export Student Lists.’ (Please keep this information confidential).
