What Research Librarians Do
Research librarians work with each department by teaching research instruction sessions for specific courses; offering research consultations for students about assignments, theses, or being an academic intern; consulting with faculty about their research needs; and selecting books and other resources to support teaching and learning at Amherst.
Research Consultations for Students
In a research consultation, research librarians can help you
- get started with a research project
- expand upon a research project or get past a stuck point
- find books and articles
- find primary sources and media
- organize and cite your sources
