Commencement Rehearsal

Commencement rehearsal will be on Friday, May 24, at 5 p.m. on the Main Quadrangle. All seniors are required to attend the rehearsal, which reviews important procedures, the distribution of rain tickets and an opportunity to hear your name read. Please do not wear your cap and gown. We anticipate that rehearsal will be over before 6:30 p.m.

Please Note: A handshake from the officiant is often used as a display of congratulations at this and other such events. Please let us know if you have a preference related to participating in a handshake and how we can best accommodate you.

Commencement Morning

Graduating seniors will gather for Commencement, with their caps and gowns, in the Alumni Gymnasium at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Breakfast will be available in the gym starting at 8 a.m. Commencement staff and the student marshals will line up the procession as it was planned during the Commencement rehearsal. Students process up Memorial Hill and around the Main Quadrangle at 10 a.m. and then are seated. See instructions for graduating students.

Commencement Tickets in Case of Inclement Weather

Commencement will take place outdoors in all but the most severe weather. When Commencement is outdoors, seating is unlimited and no tickets are required. If severe weather forces Commencement indoors, students will receive two guest tickets to attend the ceremony in LeFrak Gymnasium. Guests without tickets may watch a video simulcast of the event in Coolidge Cage, next to LeFrak. Learn more about Commencement tickets.
