Paul Zigler

Paul Zigler died in Providence, Rhode Island on March 3, 1960. He had been recovering from a minor operation necessitated by an ankle injury sustained in an intramural basketball game.

Paul came to Amherst from Wellesley High School where he had been an honor student and member of both the football and basketball teams. At Amherst, he continued both his scholastic and athletic interests, attaining Dean's List standing his junior and senior years and becoming a member of the varsity basketball team. Paul did his honors work in American Studies and graduated cum laude. He was a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity.

After graduation, Paul served six months on active duty with the United States Army. He entered Harvard Law School but later transferred to Brown University to continue his graduate work in American Studies.

Paul will be remembered by his classmates as a warm and friendly person with a quiet manner, possessing a sharp, dry humor, and always willing to help anyone who sought his aid.
