Roy Scott, Jr.

Roy Scott, husband of Charlotte Waller Scott, of Shelton, died Saturday, May 6 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was 70 years old. He was born May 13, 1935 in Media, Pa., son of the late Roy and Dorothy Wolf Scott Sr, He received his Bachelor's degree from Amherst College and graduated with his Master's Degree in teaching from Harvard University. He worked as a high school science teacher for the Greenwich and Shelton school systems. He worked for Avco Lycoming of Stratford at the time of his retirement in 1992. He also volunteered at Griffin Hospital, and was a member of The Derby Historical Society. He attended The Immanuel St. James Episcopal Church of Derby, and was a friend of Bill W. In addition to his wife Charlotte, he is survived by three daughters, Heidi Scott of Peterborough, N.H,, Dorothy Scott of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Tuti Scott of Holyoke, Mass.; a son, Jeffrey Scott of New Hartford; a brother David Scott of Springfield, Vt.; two sisters, Joanne Warren of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Jane Knowlton of Haddam; two grandsons/ Colin Capelle of Boston, and Henry Capelle of Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Scott Alosa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. from The Immanuel St. James Episcopal Church, 123 Minerva St. Derby. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. The Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or to The Griffin Hospital Development fund, 130 Division St, Derby, 06418.
