Team Mead in the galleries with Mead Director

A

re you a thinker, performer, historian, or artist? Do you have a passion for the arts and a thirst to explore the Mead’s collections? Then the Mead is YOUR museum—join Team Mead to share it with the rest of your community!

Five College students of all class years and concentrations are warmly invited to join Team Mead to:

  • organize events for the Mead’s diverse audiences
  • meet like-minded arts lovers from throughout the Five Colleges
  • gain a sense of what it’s like to work in a college museum

Team Mead meets once a week as a group on Tuesday evenings (7:30–9 p.m.).

During the spring of 2018, Team Mead will focus on collaboratively developing programs for Community Day at the Mead (April 21, 2018).

We will use strategies from human-centered design thinking and community-based contemporary art to prototype Community Day programs.

These programs will be creative and experimental. They will welcome the Mead’s interdisciplinary audiences. They will tell good stories about the art on view at the Mead. They will take advantage of the interests, skills, and networks of students participating in Team Mead.

Participating students will be interested in art and museums, but no experience in art history or studio art is required.
