Mead Reads
In his classic tell-all Living Well is the Best Revenge, author Calvin Tomkins tells the captivating true story of two wealthy American expatriates immersed in the lively art world of France between the wars.

Originally published in 1971 and now out in a new edition from The Museum of Modern Art, Living Well describes the circle of artists and writers that gathered around Gerald and Sara Murphy, including Cole Porter, Picasso, Hemingway, and the Fitzgeralds.

On Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m., join Ron Rosbottom, Winifred L. Arms Professor in the Arts and Humanities and Professor of French and European Studies, and Pam Russell, Head of Education at the Mead, for an exploration into the life and times of this fascinating couple.

This event is free and open to the public; no registration required. Light refreshments will be served.
