Yantra Yoga: Perfect Rhythm of Life workshop:  The Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations is happy to announce this workshop in conjunction with the Mead Art Museum’s exhibit “Picturing Enlightenment.” Yantra Yoga is one of the oldest recorded systems of yoga in the world. Coming to us by way of Tibet, Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements, combined with conscious breathing, helps to coordinate and harmonize the body’s energy so the mind can find its authentic balance. It is a supurb method for attaining optimal health and relaxation through coordinated breath and movement.  Co-sponsored by the Mead Art Museum.

Film screening:
In association with Picturing Enlightenment: Thangka in the Mead Art Museum exhibition, the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations and the Film and Media Studies Program are happy to announce a screening of the documentary "Compassion in Exile: The Story of the 14th Dalai Lama,". Director and filmmaker Mickey Lemle will be present and will engage in Q&A with the audience at the end of the screening.

Ofinterest to visitors to Picturing Enlightenment: Thangka in the Mead Art Museum, the Departments of Asian Languages and Civilizations and the Film and Media Studies Program are happy to announce a screening of Creating Buddhas: The Making and Meaning of Fabric Thangkas. This film, directed by Isadora Gabrielle Leidenfrost, is the story of a western woman who became a fabric thangka maker. Now, with great love and devotion, she is bringing the gift of fabric thangka to our culture.
