October 6, 2008—Professor Betsey Garand brought her printmaking class to the museum this week for a matting and framing demonstration with the Mead's preparator Tim Gilfillan. The students learned the fundamentals of cutting mat board; how to position works of art within a mat; and the differences between Plexiglas, glass, and UV-protected glass for framing.
