Homecoming 2018 welcomed alumni to campus and provided a full schedule of activities ranging from academic classes, receptions in the new Science Center, to “The Biggest Little Game in America.”

Jazz music. Lectures. S'mores. Football. A cappella performances. Museum tours. Literary readings. And so much more. Amherst College provided a lively range of activities for Family Weekend 2018.

Pumpkin carving, an inflatable 16-foot tandem slide, horse-drawn hayrides, face-painting and a variety of games: these are some of the activities at Fall Festival. And, of course, the food!

An evening of poetry in Bassett Planetarium. A master class with Amherst’s new writer-in-residence. And a marathon reading of all 1,789 of Emily Dickinson’s poems.

On Aug. 28, 492 new members of the Amherst community arrived on campus for six days of Orientation activities, culminating in Opening Convocation in Johnson Chapel.

This year's Summer Research Poster Session took place in the new state-of-the-art 250,000-square-foot Science Center.

Move-In Day 2018 was a hot one, with temperatures ascending into the 90s while new students ferried their college-bound possessions into residence halls.

As the rain held off and thousands of loved ones looked on, Amherst awarded B.A. degrees to more than 480 seniors.

Every season delivers its unique definition of beauty. After such a long winter, the colors and scents of spring are particularly breathtaking. 

Senior Assembly 2018 featured the awarding of prizes and honorary class memberships, and speeches by students and faculty.

On Apr. 27, 2018, the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) celebrated Amherst College's graduating seniors of color and seniors of the MRC.

Each fall, students in Professor David Hanneke's “Physics 123: The Newtonian Synthesis: Dynamics of Particles and Systems, Waves,” participate in a “design-your-own adventure” project.
