Brought to you by the Women of Amherst and Gender Justice Collective, the 2011 documentary "Miss Representation" exposes how mainstream media contribute to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media's limited portrayal of what it means to be a powerful woman.

Featuring Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Margaret Cho, Rosario Dawson and Gloria Steinem, the film present stories and interviews of teenage girls, activists, academics, journalists, entertainers and politicians.

Whether you are interested in learning what "media literacy" entails or hope to gain a new perspective challenges faced by women and men in America, this documentary is for you.
