Igor Vishnevetsky is a significant Russian poet, writer and scholar. His novel, "Leningrad," dedicated to the life of the creative intelligentsia during the Siege of Leningrad during World War II, won the prestigious 2011 NOS literary award, given for works of foremost social resonance. He will talk about the historical background of his fiction and the transformation of a literary narrative into a feature film. He will also discuss the connection between archival research and art in his own work.
