Cuba is a country few Americans have visited. Sarah Lawrence College has a long-standing study-abroad semester program at the University of Havana. Students take a core course in Cuban culture and society, an advanced Spanish language course and electives in the humanities, social sciences, visual arts or performing arts. Students with a minimum of four semesters of Spanish (or the equivalent) and an interest in studying in a country with a rich history should come learn more about Cuba and the program. Professor Suzanne Gardinier, resident director in Cuba, and Prema Samuel, study-abroad director at Sarah Lawrence in New York, will hold an information session on Friday, Feb. 1, at 5 p.m. in the Career Center. Learn more about the program on their website: http://www.slc.edu/international-exchange/cuba/index.html.
