Nicole Ozer ’97
Technology and Civil Liberties Policy Director, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Northern California
Nicole studied comparative civil rights history at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and earned her J.D. with a Certificate in Law and Technology from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining the ACLU, Nicole was an intellectual property attorney at Morrison & Foerster LLP and was recognized by San Jose Magazine in 2001 for being one of 20 “Women Making a Mark” in Silicon Valley. At the ACLU, Nicole works on the intersection of new technology, privacy and free speech and developed the organization’s online privacy campaign, Demand Your dotRights (www.dotrights.org). Nicole is also the co-chair of the California State Bar Cyberspace Committee and a founding board member of the Bay Area Legal Chapter of the American Constitution Society (ACS).
