Events & Calendars "Wikileaks: Whistleblowing or Terrorism? An Inside Perspective"

This coming Friday, April 4, The Amherst Political Union (APU) welcomes offical WikiLeaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson to Amherst College. Kristinn is an Icelandic investigative journalist, a three-time winner of the Icelandic journalism award and a member of the core team of WikiLeaks since 2010. His direct involvement with WikiLeaks began in 2010 with a cooperative effort between the organization and the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV, where he was employed at the time, in preparation for the release of the Collateral Murder video. Kristinn will speak on the legitimacy of the organization, the failure of the mainstream media, the need for a free Internet and the implications last summer's release of confidential information by former NSA employee Edward Snowden have had for the integrity of privacy protection.
