Events & Calendars "Same Folks, Different Strokes: Class, Culture and the 'New' Diversity at Elite Colleges and Universities" (NOTE CHANGE OF TIME)

Anthony Abraham Jack '07 is a doctoral candidate in sociology at Harvard University. He is the recipient of Ford Predoctoral and NSF fellowships and is an associate doctoral fellow in the Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality and Social Policy at Harvard's Kennedy School. Jack is interested in race, culture, education and urban poverty. More specifically, he researches present-day experiences of lower-income college students at elite colleges in the context of expanding class-based affirmative-action measures. He is also interested in how African Americans respond to racism and discrimination in their daily lives. In this lecture, Jack will discuss elements of a forthcoming paper.
