Frank J. Korom, professor of religion and anthropology at Boston University, will speak on "The Life and Legacy of a Tamil Sufi Saint: Bawa Muhaiyaddeen" at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6 in 101 Chapin Hall. He is the author and editor of nine books, most recently The Anthropology of Performance (2013). He is also co-editor of the journal Asian Ethnology and serves on a variety of advisory boards, including the American Institute of Indian Studies' board of trustees. He is currently completing a book on the figure at the center of his Amherst talk. The talk is sponsored by the Willis D. Wood Fund and is free and open to the public. A reception will precede the talk at 4 p.m. in Chapin Lounge.
