Ta-Nehisi Coates will give a talk titled “Race in America” in the LeFrak Gymnasium at Amherst College on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 6:30 p.m.

Coates is a National Book Award winner, a MacArthur Fellow, the author of Between the World and Me (2015) and The Beautiful Struggle (2008), and writer of new editions of the comic book series about the Black Panther superhero for Marvel Comics. He is a national correspondent for The Atlantic and has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Washington Monthly and O magazine.

Amherst Books will be at the event selling Between the World and Me, Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons and issues 1, 2 and 3 of the Black Panther comic book.
