Frost Library, Center for Humanistic Inquiry (2nd fl.)

First semester of involves lots of writing! How do you find the time and get started early enough to fend off procrastination and last-minute panic? The Writing Center and the Library invite you to join fellow first-years in a Write-In just for you.

What is a write-in? It’s a time, place and group of people brought together to support your writing. This may seem counter-intuitive, but writing while surrounded by other writers can be incredibly productive. A room of full of people with a common focus and purpose, not to mention a table of snacks and coffee and nearby librarians and writing associates, can give you the dedicated time and support to revise an assignment, brainstorm an idea or get started on that response essay.

We’ll begin the write-in with a brief introduction to productive writing habits and strategies for getting yourself started. Then you’ll settle in and write in a comfortable space. We encourage you to attend for the full two hours, but you’re welcome to drop in when you can.

And if you find it productive, please join us at the all-campus write-in during reading period in December!

In the Center for Humanistic Inquiry (2nd floor, Frost Library), Tuesday, November 1, 7-9 p.m. (doors open at 6:45...grab the best seats!). Hosted by the Writing Center and Library.
