David Brakke is professor and the Joe R. Engle Chair in the History of Christianity at The Ohio State University. He holds a master's degree in divinity from Harvard University and a doctorate in religious studies from Yale University. Brakke is a scholar of history and literature of ancient Christianity from its origins through the fifth century, with special interests in asceticism, monasticism, "Gnosticism," biblical interpretation and Egyptian Christianity. This event, which is generously sponsored by the Willis D. Wood fund, is free and open to the public. Please join us!
