Events & Calendars "Japanese Traditions, Greek Culture: Re-Imagining of Greek Texts in Theater and Dance"

Mae Smethurst from the University of Pittsburgh will lead a discussion about the works of Tadashi Suzuki, Yukio Ninagawa and Miyagi Satoshi. She will be accompanied by Izumi Ashizawa, a stage director and choreographer, who has worked with Suzuki and will also talk about re-imagining Greek myths in her own works. The creative team of Butoh Medea-- Brian Rhinehart (director), Deepsikha Chatterjee (costume design) and Yokko (performer) --will share their work process and sources of inspiration.
