Aaron Carroll '94 will discuss “Evidence Based Health Policy: An Unfortunately Elusive Goal”. All are welcome. Carroll is a health services researcher, Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate Dean for Research Mentoring at Indiana University School of Medicine. After graduating from Amherst College, he obtained his MD from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Health Services Research from the University of Washington, where he was also a Robert Johnson Clinical Scholar. His research interests include the study of information technology to improve pediatric care and areas of health policy including physician malpractice, the pharmaceutical industry/physician relationship and health care financing reform. He has co-authored three books on medical myths, has a popular YouTube show called Healthcare Triage and is a regular contributor to The Upshot at The New York Times.
