A panel of faculty and students will discuss the expectations, conventions and variety of academic writing at Amherst College. Faculty will describe what they look for in their students' writing and how their most successful students approach their writing assignments. Students will describe their transitions to college writing and share their strategies, tips and missteps along the way. This event will feature Wendy Bergoffen, lecturer in American studies; Ellen Boucher, assistant professor of history; Josef Trapani, assistant professor of biology and neuroscience; Madeline Clyne '18; Isabel Miller '19; and Mohamed Ramy '18. This event is sponsored by the Writing Center, and will be moderated by Jessica Kem, associate director of the writing center. Cider donuts will be served!
