Join a panel of alumnae for a discussion about their careers paths and experiences in different areas of the legal field. Featuring Elizabeth Grayer ’86, Marni Lerner ’88, Shruti Raju ’01, and Sandra Staub '85. Stay after to meet the panelists and enjoy some refreshments. All are welcome.

Shruti Raju ’01 is an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department's Legal Counsel Division, which advises the Mayor, City agencies, and other elected officials on issues concerning virtually every area of municipal law. In this role, she provides legal advice to shape and implement policy initiatives, drafts State and local legislation proposed by the Mayor and City agencies, and collaborates in the drafting of administrative rules. Before joining the Law Department, Shruti practiced in the general litigation department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. She is a graduate of Amherst (BA 2001), the University of Chicago (MA 2003), and NYU Law (JD 2008).

Marni Lerner ’88 is head of the Private Equity Mergers and Acquisitions Practice at Simpson Thacher in New York City. A 1991 graduate of Harvard Law School, she has extensive experience representing a mix of private equity and corporate clients, including family and founder-owned companies, in mergers and acquisitions, public and private divestitures, strategic investments and securities law matters.

Elizabeth Grayer '86 is a former President of Legal Momentum, the nation's oldest legal defense and education fund dedicated to advancing women's economic and personal security. Prior to joining Legal Momentum in February 2011, Elizabeth was a Partner in the Litigation Department of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. She also serves on the Boards of the Office of the Appellate Defender, the New Jewish Home, ReadAhead and the Aloha Foundation. Elizabeth is a 1989 graduate of Harvard Law School.

Sandra Staub ‘85 is a senior attorney at the Center for Public Representation (CPR), where she continues her professional dedication to public interest law. Before joining CPR, she was the legal director of the ACLU-CT. During her time at CPR and ACLU-CT, Sandy has advocated for clients’ rights in a number of arenas, including racial profiling, school to prison pipeline, Title IX protections, and ADA protections for people with mental health disabilities. Previously, Sandy was a partner in private practice at Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, LLP and at Allison, Angier and Bartmon, LLP; she also served as the first Chief of the Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit for the Northwestern District Attorney’s office in Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Greenfield Community College, Amherst College and Yale Law School.
