Events & Calendars Petitioning a Non-Approved Program

Amherst has a robust list of approved programs, but you may want something different. Students may petition the faculty Committee on Global Education to transfer credit (and financial aid) for a non-approved program so long as they offer something distinctly different than a pre-approved program. The petition program must be your first choice program and you must meet with a GEO adviser in advance of the April 1 deadline to discuss the program and the process.
