In Writing with Miss Emily, young writers between the ages of 9 and 12 will be immersed in the creative work of Amherst’s most famous poet. From July 8 to 12, 2019, young writers will see Emily Dickinson's world from a poet’s point of view. The creatively inspiring and encouraging camp will meet daily at Amherst's Jones Library. During the week, attendees will spend one day touring and writing at the Emily Dickinson Museum, including in the poet’s recently renovated bedroom. At the end of the week, families and friends will join the accomplished writers for a reading at the Jones Library.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the Emily Dickinson Museum, the Jones Library and Mass Cultural Council. To register or for more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
