The Power of Personal Branding: How to Stand Out in the Recruiting and Networking Process

In a hyper-competitive job market, the key to landing the right internship or full-time job starts with knowing your brand and how to stand apart from others during networking and recruiting. Luke Belcastro ’93 has spent the majority of his career raising institutional capital for public companies and private equity fund managers. In this role, he helps companies market their brand and define their competitive differentiation. This process allows sophisticated investors to more readily assess a company’s value relative to other opportunities in the market. Luke will be presenting his tips and perspectives on how you can create, develop, and enhance your personal brand. His perspectives will help you differentiate yourself and showcase your value-add to potential employers. Log into Quest for Luke Belcastro's bio and to RSVP

Cross-Cultural Forum: Literary Resistance

Tyranny favors the simplification and distortion of language and thought. Partly in response, much literary creativity has its source in the writer's desire to protest oppression. All around the globe, authors have found ways to resist, although sometimes protest literature itself risks sliding into propaganda. Come and share cross-cultural conversation about your favorite resistance writers of the past and present. Facilitated by Emily Merriman, writing associate and ESL counselor. Sponsored by the International Students' Office.

Graduating seniors gather in Johnson Chapel to commemorate their time at Amherst College, to celebrate their bright futures and to experience the next step in their educational journey together with their peers.

Senior Assembly is April 28, 2017. Graduating seniors should gather—in caps and gowns—no later than 4:35 p.m. on the Quad side of Johnson Chapel. If it's raining, the line will form indoors—but bring an umbrella just in case; remember, gowns sometimes bleed when they get wet.

Senior Assembly will feature the awarding of prizes and honorary class memberships and speeches by Tess Frenzel '17, Seanna McCall '17 and Leah Schmalzbauer, associate professor of American studies and sociology.
