Additional Identity & Inclusion Part 1 Workshop Added: Register Now!

9:00 am - 12:00 pm Greenway Dorm A, Event Space

The office of inclusive leadership will be offering an additional “Identity & Inclusion, Part 1” workshop on Monday, December 11. Participants will explore their own identities using a model of identity development and consider the impact of power and privilege in the ways in which we understand our own sense of self and that of others. This session offers an opportunity to reflect on the importance of our own identities as we work towards intentionally inclusive communities at Amherst College. How will they survive? Join us on an adventure into the absurd as we follow the tale of five students determined to make it to tomorrow.

French Film Screening: "Le père Noël est une ordure" (1982)

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm King Hall, French House Common Room

"Le père Noël est une ordure" (Santa Claus is a Stinker) is a cult French comedy movie, directed by Jean Marie Poiré, that French people usually watch almost every year around Christmastime. Full of absurd humor, it tells the story of two neurotics, working for a suicide hotline on the night of Christmas Eve. They get caught up in a catastrophe when a pregnant woman, her abusive boyfriend, and a transvestite visit their office. Come celebrate the end of the year with us! Snacks and drinks will be served. Join us in the French House (King Hall 2nd floor). Film will be screened in French with English subtitles. All are welcome!

The image is split into two vertical halves with the left side being a close up photograph of coffee beans and the right hand side being the title, event description and information about how to contact us about accommodations. One top of the title is a simple design of a coffee cup with steam rising from it. Image Reads: Take a break, take a shot, or take a quick power nap in our Cozy Corner!
