Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
With the end of classes nearing, and spring on its way, we write to announce the following make-up days to cover classes that were canceled during the spring semester, due to the preparation for the transition to remote learning:
- On Monday, May 4, Thursday classes may be held at the regularly scheduled time. These meetings will be held to make up for classes that were canceled on Thursday, March 12.
- On Tuesday, May 5, Friday classes may be held at the regularly scheduled time. These meetings will be held to make up for classes that were canceled on Friday, March 13.
These make-up days should only be used to hold classes that would have taken place on March 12 and 13.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the college’s policies on the scheduling of exams and other end-of-semester work. With the exception of previously scheduled performances and exhibitions, no final course work may be assigned or due during the reading period, which extends between 5:00 p.m. on the last day of classes (Tuesday, May 5) through 9:00 a.m. of the first day of the examination period (Monday, May 11). Faculty wishing to hold a scheduled final exam should use the date and time assigned by the Office of the Registrar, to avoid conflicts for students. Faculty offering self-scheduled evaluations or other end-of-semester assignments are urged to show flexibility with students during this difficult period.
