Join the Amherst College Charles Drew Health Professions Society on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in O’Connor Commons of Charles Pratt Dormitory for an exciting panel discussion about careers in surgery and medicine.

• Dr. Stephen Ettinghausen '74 is the medical director for Cancer Surgery Services at the Rochester General Hospital and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester. He is an Amherst College alum and attended Cornell University Medical College. He specializes in the care of patients with cancers of the liver/biliary tree, pancreas and upper and lower GI tract, as well as melanoma, sarcoma and breast cancer.

• Dr. Harvey M. Kramer '74 is a cardiologist at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn., and assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Vermont School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Amherst College and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is very active in community activities and most recently served as chairman of the board of directors of Ability Beyond Disability from 2009 to 2011. He has lectured extensively on cardiovascular disease prevention as well as on lipid disorders and hypertension. Dr. Kramer has a special interest in women's heart disease.

• Dr. David Refermat is a hand surgeon who is head of plastic surgery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. He graduated from Williams College and the University of Rochester Medical School. He was also a surgeon in the U.S. Navy and was deployed with the U.S. Marines.
