Frost Library, Friendly Reading Room

Join us at the Being Human in STEM summer workshop poster session this Friday August 10 from noon until 1:30 p.m., in the Frost Library Friendly Reading Room, just off the Frost lobby.

Thirteen Amherst students participated in the 2-week Being Human in STEM summer workshop, after completing their 8-week SURF (Summer Science Undergraduate Research Fellowship) experience. This program explored how different identities may affect and shape the undergraduate research experience, and discussed ways to improve the undergraduate research program to become more supportive and inclusive. The students worked on three projects: studying past survey data, interviewing SURF alumni and developing materials to help students navigate opportunities for research.

We hope you can come talk to our students about their work these past two weeks. All are welcome!
