The Loeb Center is excited to offer this 5-week workshop series for first-years, sophomores, and juniors interested in learning more about consulting. The workshop series is led by Stephanie Hockman, Director of the Traub Careers in Business and Finance (CIBF) program, and Emily Kiernan ‘21, CIBF Consulting Intern.

The workshop series is designed to help students explore consulting, gain insights into the role of consultants, understand the purpose of a consulting firm to its clients, comprehend the responsibilities and roles of consultants, and discover the types of career opportunities available. Some workshops will include alumni speakers who provide their practical insights, experience, and understanding to the discussion.

TOPICS
The 5-week course will cover the following topics:
1. Overview of Consulting: Defining consulting and its role in the economy, an overview of different types of consulting, entry-level roles, and what a career looks like for a consultant.
2. Overview of Management/Strategic Consulting: Discuss the types of problems they solve, review a client example, and discuss roles played in a management consulting firm.
3. Overview of Economic Consulting: Discuss the types of problems solved, types of clients, sample client issues, and roles played by people at the firm.
4. Boutique Consulting: Discuss the types of boutique consulting firms and how they differ from management and economic consulting firms.
5.
