The Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high academic, leadership, and ambassadorial potential to study for a graduate degree(s) in any field or institution in the UK. Join Marshall Scholarship Alumni for a virtual panel discussion of their experiences studying in the UK, dealing with cultural adjustments, participating in the community of scholars and more. Panelists will share how their own backgrounds influenced how they approached and navigated this highly competitive and rewarding opportunity. Panelists:
Michaella Moore is an alumna of Howard University, where she studied Biology. She currently is a 2020, one year Marshall Scholar gaining her masters in Medical Anthropology at SOAS, University of London. Following her degree, she will be attending Perelman School of Medicine to further her goals of achieving global health justice throughout the black diaspora.

Katie Huston ('08) is Chief Operating Officer of Nal'ibali, South Africa's national reading for enjoyment campaign. She's also worked at one of South Africa's leading philanthropic foundations, and in nonprofit monitoring and evaluation, fundraising and communications. She has a BA in Journalism from UMass Amherst. As a Marshall, she studied Global Political Economy at the University of Sussex and Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics.

Rachel Shalev is an attorney in the Supreme Court and appellate practice at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in New York, which she joined after serving as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. As a 2007 Marshall Scholar, she received master’s degrees in modern European history from St. Andrews in Scotland and in legal and political theory from University College London. She also holds a BA from Williams College and a JD from Yale Law School.
