Join us for a two-part hybrid (in person and virtual) public conversation on Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, co-sponsored by Amherst and Bowdoin Colleges, at 4 p.m. EST, between Ilan Stavans and Margaret Boyle, called "Words and Power: How Dictionaries Define Us."

The first part will be about language in crisis in the age of COVID-19, Black Lives Matter and the #MeToo movement. It will take place on Nov. 11 in Pruyne Lecture Hall at Amherst College and will be livestreamed at amherst.edu/go/webcast.

The second part will be about dictionaries as national histories. It will happen on Nov. 18 at Bowdoin College and will be livestreamed at bowdoin.edu/live.
